Facilities Optimization at Home Furnishings Retailer
A global home furnishings retailer, with big-box stores across the country, was looking for a way to control the outside air ventilation in its stores and intelligently match the HVAC needs of various zones in the stores to foot traffic and hours of operation. They were also looking to reduce their energy costs and become green-compliant. A Facilities Optimization solution was recommended with multiple sensors per store to monitor CO2 levels and occupancy.
Project Details:
- Installation of a FOS system in 12 high traffic stores with 48 sensors per store (1 per RTU), covering 3.5 million square feet
- Sensors monitor CO2 levels of customers and employees, sending data to central unit
- System intelligently controls ventilation and reduces HVAC needs by zone and hours of operation
- No capex expenses
- System is maintained and monitored on-site and remotely
Results:
- Customer saves over 50% compared to previous fixed ventilation system
- Customer achieved Silver LEED Certification
- Customer saves money and intelligently controls their energy system
